Socks for the Homeless

Want to do something for the upcoming holidays? This campaign is organized by our Seattle North Precinct Cops. They used to drop off at least a 1,000 pair to the Homeless Drop-in shelter when I was there volunteering. Yep, socks are, in fact, the #1 requested item at homeless support spots. They are often doubled up and used for mittens or filled with lavender & rice, heated in a microwave for warmth and to spruce up sleeping bags – helps chase biting critters away.
Here is a link on Amazon that suggests some bulk buying opportunities.
